West Country Cheese Co – Cheese & Christmas Cake

You might have seen a few posts on the blog and on my social  channels about the West Country Cheese Company – they supplied our amazing wedding cheese cake and I also receive a monthly cheese box from (the highlight of my month, for sure!)

For Christmas I was getting excited about which cheeses to order for Christmas (once again, a highlight of my Christmas planning) and then I saw the new Christmas cheese cakes by West Country Cheese Co. I mean, LOOK HOW PRETTY?!

There was one in particular that I had my eye on – the Christmas Cake with Stilton. And here’s what this beautiful creation consisted of…

Creamy Wensleydale approx 1.4kg – Real Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese – creamy, crumbly and full of flavour. Lovingly hand-crafted in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales

Rich Fruit Cake, 800g – Rich, sumptuous fruit filled fruit cake, soaked in brandy for a deliciously rich, moist fruit cake

Colston Bassett Stilton, 1kg – One of Britans best known cheeses is Stilton, Colston Bassett is one of the best in the country. Mellow and deliciously creamy with lovely rich deep savoury flavours. A delicate spicy tang from the blue veins comes through with a rounded and superb lingering finish

Waterloo, 360g – This irresistible brie style cheese has a rich and distinctive yellow interior which is from the deliciously rich, yellow Guernsey milk they use. It is a smooth, slightly salty buttery semi-soft cheese. The interior has an oozing texture under the rind with a slightly firmer consistency in the centre

Chabichou, 180g – Chabichou is a delighfully textured little goats cheese with it’s wrinkled rind. Made in the Poitou regeion of France. It is delicately light with a lemony flavour which tastes of the milk itself. Grassy and fresh with a luscious creamy interior.

The website said it would serve 45-50 people. Not quite so in our house, we’re big cheese eaters (I did question whether I could polish off the lot myself, now there’s a cheese challenge!!) – we had servings on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and the day after Boxing Day and we gave portions out to our family and friends. It was such a fantastic (and delicious!) feature to have in the house over Christmas. I just need to find an excuse to order another one before next Christmas now…

If you’d like to find out more, you can visit their website here.

    • Haha mostly my dedication if I’m completely honest. I’d say it’s 40-50 people if they have a very small amount, but then again not everyone is as big a cheese fiend as us 😉
