That moment when you realise you’re a YEAR behind on your blog…

The phrase ‘I don’t know where the last year has gone’ is so over-used. I personally over-use it. But it has never been truer than for 2018. I quite literally don’t know where it has gone.

A real indicator of this, is the fact I’ve realised I’m a whole year behind on my blog. It dawned on me when Facebook showed me photos from a year ago, and I smiled as I scrolled through the snaps from our trip to Kenya and Zanzibar for my 30th birthday in October last year. And that’s when I realised there were posts from that trip I’d started that I never got round to posting! Since then we’ve done a huge number of foodie blog-worthy things, all of which made it onto the ‘gram’ but I didn’t have time to put on my lovely (albeit time consuming!) blog.

I started the year with some rather rubbish health which selfishly took up a good chunk of the first half of my year. And right at the same time, work decidedly to get insanely busier than ever before, so Got To Be Gourmet had to take a bit of a back seat. While work might still be busy, health is finally (fingers crossed!) seemingly back to normal, so I really need to put time back into the blog, and I’m hoping this post will be the rocket up the backside to make me do it 😉

The point of my blog was always to be a food and travel journal for myself, an online diary, documenting the things I’ve been fortunate to see and do (and of course eat!). I’m excited at all of the posts I’ve got to write but also rather daunted. Any fellow bloggers will know that the process of producing one post can take hours to write, edit, upload photos, tag etc etc.

Wish me luck!!

  1. Yeah, dear Megan, sometimes that does happen. I know exactly what you mean!
One gets carried away by other things, and you just don’t have time–sometimes you just don’t have the drive, either–to do all the things you want to.
They are moments, sometimes turning into days, weeks, months, but, in the end, you eventually get to it. Lol (~_*)
