A Sunday Afternoon Film and Poshcorn

One of my favourite ways to spend an afternoon is to watch a good film at the cinema, with an unnecessarily big cup of coke and a bucket of popcorn to graze on like a cow. It’s overly indulgent but it’s fun! Although I must admit, with the age of movie apps like Lovefilm or Netflix, our cinema trips have become fewer and fewer. With the high cost of cinema tickets in London, it’s got to be a pretty special film for us to go and see it on the big screen, rather than wait for it on Netflix. And one of the problems Tim and I experience when we go to the cinema is that he likes salted popcorn, and I prefer sweet. Healthy Alpine Snacking – Cuckoo Bircher Muesli

As you may have read in some of my previous posts, I don’t usually have the healthiest approach to breakfast – it’s typically nothing at all or something far too indulgent. So, recently, I’ve been trying other options to get into a better morning habit. I had tried out fruit and yoghurt, and next up on the list was muesli. In particular, Cuckoo Bircher Muesli. I’d never been particularly inclined to try muesli. My mum eats it quite a lot, with a bit of milk and fruit, but it always looks so incredibly dry to me, even though she loves it! But in the nature of trying new things, I thought I’d give it a go. And I was pleasantly surprised! Cuckoo Bircher Muesli was set up by two school friends, Anna Mackenzie and Lucy Wright, who first tried bircher muesli on a school trip to Switzerland.
