The Moretti Gran Tour 2017, Hyde Park

For the past few two years I’ve been to the Moretti Gran Tour in London and I’ve written about it on here. The first in 2015 was in Hackney (which I wrote about here) and last year it was just off Brick Lane (more here). As you might have guessed by the name, it’s an event from Birra Moretti, a beautiful Italian beer which is all too easy to drink, especially on these warm summer evenings. The Moretti Gran Tour has always been a celebration of Italian food and culture. The 2015 venue was enclosed and cosy, a real foodie’s delight. They also had a great little feature where you were given a ‘passport’ at the start of the night which you got stamped as you visited the various Italian food vendors – very appealing to geeks like me who like to ‘complete’ things! Last year’s event was a bit bigger and outdoors, but with an even broader selection of excellent grub on offer, including some beautiful seafood in addition to the pizza and pasta. …

The Chocolate Show, London – My Top 5

Last month I paid a visit to The Chocolate Show in Kensington with my friend Laura. A whole show full of chocolate? Surely it can’t get much better than that?! There was so much to see and so many different types of chocolate that it would be impossible to write about it all. So I thought I’d give my highlights through a Top 5. Here we go, in no particular order… Paul A Young  I’ve been a fan of Paul A Young’s ridiculously amazing chocolate for a while now, as Tim has bought me an Easter Egg from his shop in the City for the past few years. It’s not the cheapest chocolate by any means, but it’s definitely worth it. I was excited to see the man himself at the show, and he and his team were making delicious gooey brownies which you could smell from far away. We were pretty much lured over by the divine scent!
