Some Seriously Good Salami, from Serious Pig!

You know me, I love good meat. And even better, meat with a story! I recently came across a company called Serious Pig. The name caught my eye, I liked the boldness of it. Serious Pig is the brainchild of friends George Rice and Johnny Bradshaw, who wanted a nicer snack to eat in the pub, rather than your typical crisps and pork scratchings. And so, their ‘posh pepperami’ was born. They’re now based in Peckham, not too far from me, in South London. I was sent both their Classic and Chilli & Paprika salamis, and they were both fantastic. I think I preferred the latter as it was a bit more unusual, but both were the perfect snack. Much nicer than a pepperami, I would like to point out, and more satisfying as a snack than some nuts or crisps. Let’s face it, if it’s meaty, it’s always going to be satisfying! The Porridge Cafe

When I heard that there was going to be a ‘Porridge Cafe’ opening in London (and just a stone’s throw from the office), I was excited! I wouldn’t say I’m a porridge fanatic by any means, but I love it when new ideas like this pop up! I remember visiting a rice pudding cafe in New York’s Lower East Side a year or two ago, and thinking what a good idea this sort of thing was. The Porridge Cafe opened up while I was on honeymoon, so I was keen to try it out as soon as I got back.      They serve five different types of porridge every day, with three ‘healthy and sweet’ options, and two ‘savoury and risotto’ options.
